☝️ RESTAURANT OWNERS USE THIS STRATEGY TO SAVE $18K 💰 A YEAR ON UBEREATS, DOORDASH AND MENULOG 📈

Did you know?

UberEats, DoorDash and Menulog have similar self-delivery options that reduces their commission by approx. 50%

$18k savings a year 🤯

For a restaurant with an average order value of $50 and 200 orders each month, that's a saving of $18,000 a year!

Gain delivery fees 🔥

When you use Self-Delivery option, you get to receive all delivery fees that customers pay on UberEats, Menulog and DoorDash to cover your own delivery driver costs. Plus you set the delivery fee amount yourself.

Self delivery on UberEats to reduce commissions by half ✅

Merchant benefits of using self delivery option on UberEats

Increase profit margins 📈

UberEats offer merchants a much lower commission rate (16% instead of 30%) when you use self-delivery.

Earn delivery fees 💰

When you use self-delivery on UberEats, you can set your own delivery fee on the UberEats platform. All delivery fees from UberEats goes to your pocket.

Better deliveries = happier customers 👍

Using your own delivery drivers gives you better control over delivery times and customer service. Your customers will thank you. In return, you get better reviews and more repeat customers.

Subsidise delivery cost for your own website 🚀

Do you have your own online ordering website? If there was only a handful of sales from your own website, it would not be cost effective to have your own dedicated delivery driver... BUT if you're using the delivery driver to deliver for BOTH your own website and orders from UberEats, the economics for hiring your own dedicated delivery driver is SIGNIFICANTLY improved.

Step-by-step guide: How to implement Self-Delivery on UberEats 🍕🍣🍝🍔

1️⃣ Account manager 🧑‍💻

Contact UberEats customer service 1-833-275-3287 or your UberEats account manager and let them know you want Self-Delivery activated for your UberEats account. Alternatively, reach out to us and we'll do it for you for free!
⚠️ Important: you must instruct the UberEats representative to display the customer delivery address on the UberEats docket (your own delivery drivers will need this information when making deliveries).

2️⃣ Set up ⚙️

Upon activation, you should be able to see the option to change your delivery settings in the UberEats tablet. You will be able to set your own delivery fee and also choose a 'mixed' delivery strategy.

3️⃣ Mixed delivery strategy 🎯

Under the 'mixed' delivery settings, set it so that you will be delivering orders within 3km yourselves. This means that orders beyond 3km are going to be delivered by UberEats drivers. This is an important aspect of the self-delivery strategy. When you use your own drivers, they will always need to return to the restaurant for the next delivery. It will not be cost effective for your own drivers to deliver longer-distance orders. Therefore, to keep self-delivery strategy cost effective, leave the longer-distance orders to the UberEats delivery drivers instead.

4️⃣ Managing the deliveries 🛵

A very useful feature of the self-delivery option on UberEats is the ability to switch the Self-Delivery mode on / off in real time using the UberEats tablet. This means that you will never have to worry about having more orders than you can deliver. If your own delivery driver is out delivering and you have more orders than you expected, you can always temporarily turn off the Self-Delivery mode to have UberEats delivery drivers deliver the orders until your own delivery driver becomes available again.

5️⃣ Patience & timing is important 😇

For most restaurants, it takes at least a few weeks to perfect the self-delivery option strategy. This is because you need to understand the volume of orders that you can deliver and the number of delivery drivers you need. If you have been operating the restaurant for a year at least, you will know there's generally a consistent level of orders on certain days of the week. For example, most restaurants have the highest order volumes on Fridays and Saturdays.

6️⃣ Which day to use the Self-Delivery Strategy 📆

The ideal day to implement the Self-Delivery strategy are the days of the week that you receive the most orders (for most restaurants, these would be Fridays and Saturdays). More orders mean more savings on commission and more orders to keep your hired delivery driver busy (which leads to lower delivery cost).

However, if you're new to this strategy, we strongly recommend that initially (for the first couple of weeks), use the Self-Delivery option on a day that is moderately busy (e.g. Thursday evening). This gives you the chance to learn how to use the UberEats tablet and manage your own delivery drivers. Once you're confident of running the process smoothly, you can then implement the Self-Delivery Strategy on busier days.

WHO IS DELIVERYTASKER

We support restaurants using self-delivery on UberEats, MenuLog and DoorDash

deliveryorders1.png

DeliveryTasker is an Australian 🇦🇺 company that supports restaurants and UberEats merchants who want to lower commission and improve online profits by using Self-Delivery on UberEats, DoorDash or Menulog. DeliveryTasker provides delivery drivers directly to these restaurants. We are not in any way affiliated with UberEats, MenuLog or DoorDash.

We operate primarily in Victoria and New South Wales with over 100,000 on-demand food and pizza delivery drivers available for same-day hiring on hourly rates ranging between $25 per hour ~ $30+ per hour.

✅ Same-day hourly hiring of delivery contractors

Using our mobile app, restaurants can easily get a delivery contractor to help out at the restaurant for 2 hours or more, doing food deliveries and sometimes extra help at the kitchen (e.g. folding takeaway boxes, drying cutleries etc.). Same-day hiring accepted! 🔥

✅ No payroll, no long term commitments

Delivery contractors quote their own rates and determine their own availability and services. You pick your preferred contractor from the quotes available. After each job ('shift') is completed, you receive an invoice for your own records.

✅ Real time delivery tracking

Our mobile app sends you real time notifications of the ETAs and status of each delivery so that you can time the preparation of food orders better.

✅ Reliable and trusted by local restaurants

Over the last 2 years, shift attendance rates have been over 99%. Delivery contractors are penalised with a $19.80 fee if they fail to attend a shift that they signed up. If a delivery contractor quits a shift a few hours before the shift starts, we are able to find replacements quickly.

✅ Affordable platform fees

Our platform fee is currently $149 (monthly) in NSW and $269 (monthly) in VIC. This gives you unlimited access to delivery drivers on our network for 1 store location. It also includes the use of our online ordering website and social media advertising management service.

  • Which Plan should I choose?
If you currently have less than 100 online sales per month, you should choose the basic tier. If you currently have between 200 or more online sales per month, then you should consider the other plans. If you need extra food and pizza delivery drivers on busy days (e.g. Fridays and Saturdays) every week, then you should choose the Regular plan. For instance, some restaurant owners want to reduce their commissions on Uber Eats, Menulog and Doordash by 50% on peak delivery days like Fridays and Saturdays each week. So on these days, they select self-delivery on those third-party platforms and use temp shift delivery drivers (charge by hourly rate, usually with a small fee per delivery) from DeliveryTasker. Door Dash's commission rate reduces from 30% to 15% when you self-deliver their orders (see here). UberEats's commission rate reduces from 30% to 16% when you choose self-delivery (see here) If you are a takeaway and delivery focused restaurant or simply need extra food and pizza delivery drivers multiple days every week, then go for the Frequent plan.
  • Do restaurant merchants pay any other service fees, set up fees, cancellation fees or long term contracts for the online ordering website?
No, as a restaurant merchant partner, you won't be paying any other fees for the online ordering website except for what's stated and displayed on our website. Our pricing is fully transparent with no surprises. DeliveryTasker does not charge restaurant merchant partners for any set up, cancellation and we do not require you to enter into long term contracts. You can deactivate your online ordering website anytime.
  • Do my customers who order from my online website need to pay any extra fees?
Just like other online platforms, your customers will pay the standard credit card fees directly (merchants are not required to pay this fee). Customers who purchase from your website will be directly paying DeliveryTasker a flat service fee of $1.10 (in addition to standard credit card fee) for each order processed to help cover our infrastructure costs.
  • Which online ordering Plan should I choose for my restaurant?
If you currently have less than 200 orders per month, go for the basic tier. If you have more than that, it would be better to go for the other plans.
  • What's the difference between DeliveryTasker's delivery network and other third-party platforms?
DeliveryTasker's delivery drivers are hourly-paid, hourly-hired delivery contractors who deliver only for one restaurant each shift. Each shift usually lasts for 2 ~ 4 hours. This gives restaurants better control over delivery times and delivery standards. Most restaurants prefer to lend the delivery drivers restaurant branded pizza or thermal bags to ensure consistent delivery standards. Drivers would then return the bags to the restaurant at the end of the shift. Drivers' ratings and earnings are dependent on their performance and ratings provided by each restaurant. The drivers are usually paid a combination of an hourly rate + small delivery fee to help cover their petrol and incentivise them to deliver more per hour. Drivers pay a penalty fee or get removed from the platform if they display unprofessional behaviour or receive poor ratings. The drivers also offer extra services to the restaurants such as folding takeaway boxes, drying cutleries and other simple store duties.
  • Do DeliveryTasker's restaurant merchants need to pay delivery fees / driver payments?
Yes but merchants usually pass on the delivery fees to their customers. Across Australia, merchants generally charge an average delivery fee of $8~$12 per delivery.
  • Can I just use DeliveryTasker's hourly-hired delivery driver network without the online ordering website?
Yes. To access DeliveryTasker's delivery network without our online ordering website, download the DeliveryTasker app here.
  • What about credit card fees for the online ordering website?
Like most other online ordering system for restaurants, credit card fees for each online order is paid directly by the consumer / your customer (not restaurant merchant). DeliveryTasker uses Stripe to process all payments securely online. They charge 1.75% + 30 cents for each credit card transaction.
  • How do I access my menu and orders for my online ordering website?
Restaurant merchants can access the menu and orders via the internet either using your own tablet or just any computer or lap top that has an internet browser.
  • How much do the hourly hired delivery contractors from DeliveryTasker's network usually cost?
DeliveryTasker's network of hourly hired food and pizza delivery contractors runs on a real time quote-based system. This means that once you've posted a shift (e.g. say a 3-hr job from 5pm ~ 8pm) on the DeliveryTasker mobile app, you will receive real time quotes from multiple delivery contractors who are available. You can choose which quote to accept based on ratings, extra services provided by each driver and their experience. Rates quoted by the drivers are usually a combination of an hourly rate + a small delivery fee. Quotes vary based on factors like location, weather, days and times of your shift. The average hourly rates range between $24 ~ $30 per hour (usually plus a small delivery fee, say $0.50 ~ $2.00). Merchants can post a shift as late as 1 hour before they need a driver.
  • Do restaurant merchants pay any commission fees on orders received on DeliveryTasker's online ordering website or orders delivered by DeliveryTasker delivery contractors?
No they don't. DeliveryTasker's restaurant merchant partners pay 0% commission.
  • How do I get started with DeliveryTasker's online ordering website and delivery service?
